Background:

Alpha-synuclein은 정상적으로는 구조가 없는 용해성 단백질이지만, 파킨슨병, 루이체 치매, 다계통 위축증과 같은 루이체를 특징으로 하는 병리적 상태에서는 응집하여 불용성 섬유를 형성할 수 있습니다. 다른 많은 아밀로이드 관련 질환과 유사하게 Alpha-synuclein은 올리고머 집합체를 형성할 수도 있습니다. 이러한 소형 용해성 형태는 단량체 및 섬유질 형태에 비해 더 강력한 조직 손상 효과를 발휘하는 것으로 제안되었습니다. 최근 개발된 기술을 활용하여 올리고머 특이적 단클론 항체가 설계되었습니다.
